ABOUT INTERRAIL

With new European Interrail Passes you can travel by rail to 31 countries within Europe and Mediterranean for up to one month at very affordable prices.

With New Interrail Offer, rail travellers have two choices:

1) Interrail Global Pass (Europe Wide Rail Pass)

You can buy Inter Rail Global Pass for a continuous period of 22 days or 1 month.
With this Inter Rail Pass you can travel on any of the days during 22 day or 1 month period on the InterRail network.

You may also choose a 5 day pass (valid within 10 days period) or 10 day pass (valid within 22 days period) in which you can travel. These days can be chosen randomly within the specified time period. Full interrail global pass price list & quotes can be found here

2) One Country Pass (Single European Country Rail Pass)

The New Interrail One Country Pass (formerly known as Eurodomino Pass) is a discounted rail ticket that allows you to have cheap, unlimited travel by train within any single European country.

One Country Pass is available for all European countries (not just EU members) plus Russia. Full list of countries is on our front page

You can travel from three to eight days, within 1 month period on the entire rail network of the specific country. The pass does not have to be used on consecutive days. You can also combine (pick and choose) rail passes for several countries and create your own rail holiday. Full interrail one country pass price list & quotes can be found here

Even better, combine your rail travel and ferry crossings (see map here..) and get the best of both worlds. Interrail Pass also entitles you to interrail discounts on various ferry routes (Italy to Greece ferry for example is virtually free of charge as a part of Greece Plus offer).

To be eligible for the Interrail passes, you must be resident for at least six consecutive months in any European country (not only EU member states). You can read more about the Interrail Terms and Conditions below....

There are three Inter-rail ticket price categories:

  • Adult  – valid for people 26 years old or over, with no upper age limit.
  • Youth – valid for people who are under 26 on the first day the ticket’s validity.
  • Child  – valid for children under 12 on the first day of the ticket’s validity. Children under 4 may travel free without taking up
                a seat.

INTERRAIL CONDITIONS

  1. InterRail Global Pass is strictly personal, non-transferable and only valid upon presentation of a passport or valid travel document replacing the passport.
  2. The pass is valid in the class indicated on the Pass(1st class Passes are also valid in 2nd class). For 1st class travel with a 2nd class Pass, the full difference between 1st and 2nd class fare on the respective route must be paid.
  3. The Pass is valid for the time period indicated on the Pass. If the Pass is valid for a specific number of travel days within a longer period of overall validity, the Pass holder may choose these travel days at his convenience. The pass-holder must enter the chosen date of each travel day in the travel calendar of the Pass before boarding the first train/ship of that day. This date must be entered by the traveller in blue or black ink or with a blue or black ballpoint pen in the corresponding box of the travel calendar. Dates must be inserted in sequential order in the following manner, for example: May 27 = 27/05. Pass-holders can travel from midnight until midnight on the selected day. If the trip starts through overnight train departing after 19h00 (7pm), the next day’s date must be entered; travel between 19h00 on the day of departure and 24h00(midnight) on the day of arrival is then included. When using an overnight ferry covered by the Pass, the holder may either enter the day of departure or the day of arrival. A traveller who had not entered the date of travel in the travel calendar before beginning his journey, must pay a maximum fine of EUR 50 in local currency, according to the provisions of the company concerned.
  4. It applies for each Pass that travel cannot begin before 00h01 on the first day of validity and must be completed by midnight of the last day of validity.
  5. The pass offers unlimited travel on the lines of all companies participating in the InteRail Global Pass (see list hereafter), except on the lines in the country of residence of the holder. In the country of residence the holder can obtain a ticket reduced fare (reduction of at least 25% of the full fare):
    • Outgoing from his/her city of residence to the border point where he/she will leave the country or the nearest airport in his/her country of residence.
    • Returning from the nearest airport in his/her country of residence or the border point where he/she will re-enter the country to his/her city of residence.
    • Ticket at reduced fare have to be purchased before departure.
  6. Holders of a valid Pass are entitled to extra benefits. See the booklet ‘InreRail Traveller’s Guide’.
  7. Journeys made as part of the unlimited travel offer governed by the CIV rules of the Convention concerning international carriage rail.
  8. The Pass must be presented at every inspection, accompanied by the official form of identity of which the number appears on the InterRail Pass.
  9. In case of loss or theft, a duplicate Pass is not issued.
  10. The price of the Pass is refunded if it is returned before the first date of validity. In all other cases (loss, theft partial use, etc.) the holder is not entitled to any refund.
  11. Before every journey and for each train or ship taken the holder of the Pass must fill in the Travel Report integrated in the Pass cover, which will be checked by an inspector.
  12. If the traveller cannot present a valid passport with his/her Pass, the control staff is authorised to demand payment of a full fare ticket and a fine, charged in conformity with the regulations of the railway concerned. Use of a Pass on which the indications have been altered or tampered with, which is forged, or used by anyone other than to whom it was issued, or beyond it’s validity period, authorizes control staff to confiscate the Pass and to demand the payment of the full fare, plus a fine of €100 maximum.
  13. The Pass does not guarantee you a seat. Do not forget that some trains on some networks require compulsory reservation and payment of a supplement. In other cases, reservation is recommended, particularly for long distance journeys and sea crossings in high season.

Trains & Supplements

There are trains on which supplements have to be paid. However, there are almost always other trains on the same route, which do not have supplementary charges.
Before boarding trains, we recommend checking if seat reservation is necessary and if any supplement has to be paid.
Inter-Rail ticker holders must pay for:

  • Reservation on trains on which this is compulsory.
  • Supplement for sleeping places (bunks and beds).
  • On Trainhotels, cabin service or sleeperette supplement if the train leave the zone which the traveller has acquired.
  • On tourist class on AVR and Talgo200 trains, there is a supplement of about 10 Euros (except for Spanish residents).
