Trains & Supplements

There are trains on which supplements have to be paid. However, there are almost always other trains on the same route, which do not have supplementary charges.
Before boarding trains, we recommend checking if seat reservation is necessary and if any supplement has to be paid.
Inter-Rail ticker holders must pay for:

  • Reservation on trains on which this is compulsory.
  • Supplement for sleeping places (bunks and beds).
  • On Trainhotels, cabin service or sleeperette supplement if the train leave the zone which the traveller has acquired.
  • On tourist class on AVR and Talgo200 trains, there is a supplement of about 10 Euros (except for Spanish residents).
